We are thrilled to announce that the famous Impro Match is back for its 9th edition, this year. Comedy and theatre lovers alike, join us to celebrate theatrical improvisation where the actors will take you on a hilarious journey, in the spirit of imagination, laughter, and quick wit!
This year we will be players from Québec/Canada, France, and Wallonie.
The French British Improvisation (FBI) welcomes the prestigious Ligue Nationale d’Improvisation (LNI) team from Québec for an exceptional international meeting.
The event is organised to celebrate Francophonie month, by the Québec Government office in London, the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom, the Embassy of France in the United Kingdom and the Representative of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in the UK.

Poutine: Make sure you arrive early to order your Poutine. We advise you to be there as early as 6 pm to place your order before the show. The Match will start at 7:30 pm sharp.

What is an improvisation match?
Two teams of professional players from Québec/Canada, France, Wallonie and other French speaking regions will face each other in a battle where all their imagination and acting talent will be needed to create stories from the themes chosen by an impartial referee.
The actors face an audience free to shout their likes/dislikes at any moment. Nothing’s written down in advance and the dramatic construction builds up little by little…
Improvisation started in Québec over 40 years ago and is modelled on ice hockey games. These theatrical ad lib matches use the ceremony, the outfits and the referees, but the stick and the puck are replaced by imagination, words and gestures.

C’est quoi un match d’improvisation?
Deux équipes de joueurs professionnels du Québec/Canada, de France, de Wallonie et d'autres régions francophones s'affronteront dans une bataille où toute leur imagination et leur talent d'acteur seront nécessaires pour créer des histoires à partir des thèmes choisis par un arbitre impartial.
Les acteurs font face à un public libre de voter pour ses performances préférées. Rien n’est écrit à l’avance et la construction dramatique se construit petit à petit…
Lancés au Québec il y a plus de 40 ans et calqués sur les matchs de hockey sur glace, ces matchs théâtraux utilisent le cérémonial, les tenues et les arbitres, le bâton et la rondelle étant remplacés par l'imagination, les mots et les gestes.
